The Green Classroom is a well-equipped camp adapted to the forest environment, located in the Raiskums Sveķi Pine Grove. It is fully furnished to provide an energetically pure atmosphere for exploration, experimentation, and enjoyment. Here, we’ve built a unique “Bedouin oven” for roasting meat and fish, an open hearth for preparing delicious meals, a heated bed for rest or overnight stays, and a variety of installations for engaging and educational historical activities.
Our Latvian Story program at the Green Classroom is deeply connected to Latvian cultural and historical heritage—its diversity and depth.
In a forest setting, as evening falls and guests gather around a richly set table, in the soft glow of lanterns and the hearth, the most ancient symbols of collective memory come to life. The twists and turns of Latvian history lead us to distant, often unexplored paths. We weave melodies into our stories using traditional instruments, and folk songs are used to unlock the chest of symbolism.
Program Goal:
In a relaxed atmosphere, while enjoying freshly prepared meals cooked over an open fire, the aim is to inspire family interest and understanding of the essence, meaning, and value of Latvian culture—past, present, and future.
Evening Theme:
The Unwritten History of the Latvians – stories you won’t find in school textbooks. The origins of Latvian culture and traditions. The Latvian geometric worldview, the meaning behind “Latvian signs,” and messages in folk art.

Archery
Spear throwing
Our freshly prepared meal includes:
Charcoal-roasted sturgeon or trout

Evening stories will seek answers to questions like:
Where can the earliest Latvian ancestors be found?
Where did we come from and where were we headed?
What’s the meaning behind the geometric patterns of Latvian symbols?
What worldview does the Latvian tradition carry?
Who are the Latvians in the classical sense, and how did the Latvian people form in today’s territory?
What key aspects have been overlooked in school history books?
The program can be adapted to nearly all seasons and weather conditions.
In this forest oasis, we welcome only invited guests—and our hospitality is crowned by an idyllic atmosphere and a truly unforgettable experience in the heart of nature.
